The characters in Ice Age: The Meltdown are just as lovable and quirky as in the first film. Manny, the protagonist, is still grappling with his role as a single father to his adopted human daughter, Ellie (Elizabeth Avessi). Sid, the lovable sloth, provides much of the comedic relief, while Diego's deadpan humor and tough-guy persona add to the laughs.
