If the registration won't "stick," try right-clicking the ProfiCAD icon and choosing Run as Administrator before entering your details.

The developers do not currently offer a separate student key. However, the demo version is usually sufficient for learning basic schematics. For full projects, the €50 license is a modest investment for students.
