In cybersecurity, attackers frequently use unusual or non-standard extensions to trick users. For instance, a file named update.mp5 might actually be an executable ( .exe ) or a script ( .js , .vbs ). Double-clicking such a file—especially if it claims to be a firmware update for a mouse, touchpad, or media driver—could deploy ransomware, a keylogger, or a backdoor.

Repacking a modified .mp5 will break the digital signature. The bootloader will reject it unless you flash a custom debug bootloader (requires physical JTAG unlock).
